I have had a passion for ministering to homeless people since I gave the first gospel tract to a homeless man in 1996. Since that time, the Lord has given me a very unique ministry among the homeless population. Our ministry has been localized in Augusta, GA since 1996 and has consisted of building the Garden City Rescue Mission as a ministry of Victory Baptist Church.

With a growing homeless population in the United States, the Lord has burdened our hearts to do everything we can to reach the over 3.5 million homeless people in America (statistics from the National Coalition for the Homeless web site). In June of 2009 May of 2009 we left our ministry in Augusta with the following ministry goals on our hearts.

Assist churches in starting ministries for the homeless in their city.

Rescue Missions

City Bus routes

Food/clothing pantries

Counseling training for substance abuse

Street level ministry to the homeless in many cities

Soul winning and discipleship

Street meetings with preaching and singing

Leading church groups on mission trips to the homeless

Reaching out to the unsheltered

Consultant work and assistance to other Rescue Missions

Help them with establish new programs, policies and procedures

Help them with special projects and meetings

At this time, our main objective is working among the unsheltered homeless population. We are concentrating on this specific group because they usually are not in shelters hearing the gospel or receiving any of the available services a shelter offers. We are targeting those that live under bridges, in the woods and in tent cities. These homeless people are an ever-growing problem in the U.S. and we are on the ball trying to reach them!

My heart for preaching God's Word is more alive now than ever before. I enjoy all aspects of the ministry but two of them are definitely my calling, preaching and working with homeless people. If I can be of service to you please don't hesitate to contact me.
