Hello,
my name is Doyle Berry and I am the Music and Choir Director at
Temple Baptist Church.
At Temple Baptist Church we love music! Whether it's singing chorus,
classic hymns, or a song that declares God's rich truth, we cherish
the joyful spirit of song that saturates our services.
"Prepare ye the way for the Word of the Lord." Music
has
been exquisitely ordained and chosen by God to be an
instrument that invites His power and presence into our
lives. Music is also a form of communication that prepares our
hearts, soften our spirits, and makes us ready to hear and respond
to God's truth.
"Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and
his praise in the congregation of saints." Psalms 149:1
Currently we have three faithful musicians that enjoy being used
by the Lord through their individual talents. Their faithfulness
and dedication to the Music Ministry at Temple is greatly appreciated.
Each of them accompany the Hymns, Chorus,' Trio's, Soloists and
the Church Choir occasionally.

Among the wonderful ministries of music at Temple Baptist
Church, the Choir leads our worship services. We thank the Lord
for every opportunity to serve Him!
Choir members attend the regular weekly practices each Wednesday
where we learn new music, review songs we know and love from our
collection and enjoy fellowship. As we strive to develop our music
for proper dynamics and quality of sound, we also emphasize the
biblical messages of the songs and seek to build up one another
spiritually. This balance makes the choir ministry effective in
the lives of both the singers and the listeners.
How do I join
the Temple Baptist Church Choir?
First of all you must be in attendance at Temple for at
least three months and a member of the church. Once
that has been fulfilled, than Brother Doyle would like to speak
to you on an individual basis. An appointment can be set up through
the church office or set up an appointment after services on Sunday
morning. At that time he will review with the "Choir Member
Covenant," that following Wednesday you may attend our Wednesday
night practice.
What is expected from me to be a member of the choir?
As a part of the Temple Baptist Church Music Ministry or Choir……
I will hold
my place of service in high regard.
I will fill
my place faithfully.
I will avoid
the "they will never miss me" state of mind.
I will structure
my schedule not to interfere with my choir commitment.
I will give
100 % of my mental and vocal effort during practice time.
I will be on
timer for services and practices.
I will faithfully
participate in occasional special rehearsals.
I will faithfully
prepare on my own time with any special rehearsal tapes or CDs.
I will be a
faithful example of a Christ-like Christian.
I will be right
with God and fully dependent upon his power each time I sing.
Our goal at Temple Baptist Church is to join in song together
as a people yielded to God's Holy Spirit and committed to music
that glorifies Christ. We strive to choose the very best of the
hymns of the Christian faith along with new music that reflects
the timeless principles of God's Word.
We invite you to join with us in worship and praise to our
Lord Jesus Christ in song. "O, magnify the Lord with me and
let us exalt His name together!"
